Mitten Food Carry

It took me a couple of days to notice that the way I carry my mittens makes it so they can work as pretty decent improvised mountain feed bags.

How versatile mittens are. They hide my intent when I gesture at belligerent, rumbling trucks here in Anchorage. The roadways in town make me lose faith in humanity. Thankfully, I just look like a waving idiot in a reflective vest.

I hear plastic shopping sacks make superultralight luggage, and should they require replacement, seem to be available globally. Double bag for more rugged terrain. I’m quite sure I saw a man “touring” this summer on a Magna MTB on the Trans-Canada Highway with six or more plastic sacks slung all over his bike. Shirtless, bearded and wearing a large rice-picker’s hat, he appeared to be having a fantastic time.
